A compilation of underscore music from two documentaries produced by The Watase Media Arts Center at The Japanese American National Museum. “Toyo Miyatake: Infinite Shades of Grey” is the award-winning documentary directed by Robert Nakamura. This film takes a look at Toyo Miyatake and other pioneering Japanese American photographers from the 20th century. “Harsh Canvas: The Art & Life of Henry Sugimoto”, directed by Jon Esaki studies the life and works of Henry Sugimoto and features performances the late Masakazu Yoshizawa on shakuhachi, yokobue and fue, and Jon Crosse on Soprano and tenor saxes, trumpet, clarinet and flute.
